Three Fat Turkeys

Three fat turkeys are we
We slept all night in a tree
When the cook came around
Only 2 could be found
Two fat turkeys are we.

Two fat turkeys are we
We slept all night in a tree
when the cook came around
only 1 could be found
One fat turkey am I.

One fat turkey am I
When the cook comes around I'll die
He won't catch my head
He'll just have to eat bread
One fat turkey am I.

Thanks to Our Father
Thanks to our Father we will bring,
For he gives us everything.
Eyes and ears and hands and feet,
clothes to wear, and food to eat.
Father, mother, baby small,
Heavenly Father gives us all.

Ten Little Indians

Four little, five little, six little Indians
Seven little, eight little, nine little Indians
Ten little Indian boys.

Looking so proud with his feathers in the air

Gobble Strut Strut

Thinking that this is his last fanfare

I Am Thankful
Sung to: "She'll Be Comin' Round the Mountain."
I am thankful for my doggy and my cat
And my teddy bear so furry, soft and fat,
I am thankful for soft kittens
and my nice warm woolen mittens
And my swing set and my baseball and my bat
I am thankful for my crayons and my books
And the way our brand new baby smiles and looks,
I am thankful for potatoes
and for juicy ripe tomatoes
And for all the tasty food that mommy cooks.
I am thankful for my mommy and my dad,
They both love me whether I am good or bad,
I am thankful for the flowers
and refreshing summer showers,
All the pretty things around me make me glad.

Falling Leaves
Tune: Twinkle Twinkle
Falling falling falling leaves,
Mother Nature did you sneeze? (ACHOO!)
Red ones, yellow ones, orange and brown.
Big ones, little ones on the ground.
Falling falling falling leaves,
Mother Nature did you sneeze? (ACHOO!)

November Fall/Thanksgiving Fingerplays

FALL & THANKSGIVING –
November Music Makers Finger Plays

FALL LEAVES & APPLES

Leaves
See the leaves all falling down,
To make a carpet on the ground,
Swish, swish, wind blows by,
Swish, swish, away they fly.

Autumn Leaves
Leaves are floating softly down
Some are red, and some are brown.
The wind goes SWISH! through the air.
When you look back, no leaves are there.

Autumn
In autumn when the trees are brown (make circle with arms)
The little leaves come tumbling down (flutter fingers down)
They do not make the slightest sound (finger to lips)
But lie so quietly on the ground
Until the wind comes puffing by(Swish with arms)
and blows them off towards the sky.(flutter fingers up)

Leaves Are Falling
Leaves are falling all around
On the housetops, on the ground
Leaves are falling on my nose,
On my head and hands and toes.

Jumping in Leaves
I rake the leaves into a great big hump
Stand back a little ways
Bend both my knees….and Jump!

Two Little Apples
Way up high in the apple tree, (point up high)
Two little apples were smiling down at me; (make two circles with hands)
So I shook that tree as hard as I could; (wrap hands around "trunk" and shake)
Down came the apples (circle hands come down)
Mmmm, they were good! (rub tummy)

THANKSGIVING

A Song of Thanks (primary song)
Thank thee for the world so sweet;
Thank thee for the food we eat;
Thank thee for the birds that sing;
Thank thee God for everything!

I Have Two Ears (primary song)
I have two ears to hear the truth,
Two eyes to see the good.
I have two feet to carry me
To places where they should.

Chorus:
I’ll try to use them wisely
In my work and play.
I thank my Heavenly Father
For making me this way.

I have two lips to speak kind words,
Two hands to work for me.
All these loving helpers
Heavenly Father gave to me.

Five Little Indians
Five little Indians by the teepee door
One went hunting, then there were four.

Four little Indians climbing up a tree
One fell down, then there were three.

Three little Indians paddling a canoe
One went swimming, then there were two.

Two little Indians playing in the sun
One went fishing, then there was one.

One little Indian sitting all alone
He went home to mother, then there were none.

Indians & Ponies
Five little Indians, on a nice fall day (dance around)
Jumped on their ponies and rode far away (pretend to ride a pony)
They galloped in the meadow, and they galloped up a hill,
They galloped so fast, they all took a spill (pretend to fall off the ponies)

The Turkey
A turkey I saw on thanksgiving,
Her tail was spread so wide.
Shhh....don't tell that you've seen her,
For she's running away to hide
(make fist for turkey & spread fingers of other hand for tail, Make a shhh sound)

Mr. Turkey & Mr. Duck
Mr. Turkey went for a walk on a bright sunshiny day.
And on the way he met Mr. Duck
Gobble, Gobble.....Quack, Quack.
And they both went on their way.

Turkeys in a Tree
Five fat turkeys are we.
We slept all night in a tree.
When the cook came around,
We couldn't be found,
And that's why we're here, you see.

Pumpkin, Pumpkin (can be a song too)
Pumpkin, Pumpkin, I’ve been thinking,’
You’re the finest one I’ve seen.
Soon you’ll be a pumpkin pie,
For our dinner on thanksgiving.

Turkey on the Loose
Gobble, gobble, gobble! Flap elbows up and down like wings.
What's all the fuss? Hand up, questioning.
Clever Mr. Turkey is hiding from us! Hands cover eyes.
Let's look all around. Hand to brow, look around
Don't let him get away! Shake index finger
We need that turkey on Thanksgiving Day! Pat stomach.
The Turkey is a funny bird,
His head goes wobble wobble.
All he says is just one word.....
Gobble gobble, gobble!

WALK LIKE A TURKEY
(A movement rhyme)
Walk like a turkey,
Woddle, woddle, woddle.
Talk like a turkey,
Gobble, gobble, gobble.
Run like a turkey
‘Round and ‘round.
But when it’s Thanksgiving
Don’t make a sound!
